Double chin removal in Singapore: defined jawline and tightened under-chin profile after non-surgical treatment

A double chin is one of the most common concerns we hear at our Tanjong Pagar studio, and one of the most misunderstood. Plenty of slim people have one. Plenty of people lose weight and keep theirs. That is because fullness under the chin has several possible causes, and each cause responds to a different treatment. This guide walks through why double chins form, the main options available in Singapore, including the ones we do not offer, and what realistic results look like, so you can choose based on your anatomy rather than on marketing.

Why Double Chins Happen (It Is Not Just Weight)

The area under the chin is shaped by four things working together:

  • Genetics. Some people inherit a fuller fat pad under the jaw or a softer chin projection, so the fold shows even at a healthy weight.
  • Weight. For some bodies the under-chin area is a preferred fat storage spot, and it is often one of the last places to slim down.
  • Age. From our thirties onward the skin produces less collagen and the supporting layers of the lower face relax, so the contour blurs even when no new fat appears.
  • Posture and fluid. Hours spent looking down at a screen soften the area, and sluggish lymphatic drainage can add a puffy layer on top of everything else.

Working out which of these is driving your double chin is the most useful first step, because a treatment aimed at the wrong cause will disappoint you no matter how good it is.

The Non-Surgical Options in Singapore, Honestly

Here is the full landscape, including routes we do not offer, because an honest map is more useful than a menu.

  • RF and micro-current tightening. Radio-frequency warms the deeper skin layers to trigger fresh collagen while micro-current re-activates the muscles that hold the jawline up. Best for laxity and soft fullness, with no needles and no downtime. This is the approach we use.
  • Lymphatic and manual sculpting. Bojin and guasha techniques drain retained fluid and release tension along the jaw. Best when puffiness is a large part of the picture.
  • Chin cryolipolysis. A small fat-freezing applicator fitted under the chin cools the fat pad so the body clears it over two to three months. Some Singapore providers offer chin-sized applicators; our own fat freeze menu is built for body zones such as the belly, thighs and arms, so we do not treat the chin with it.
  • HIFU. High-intensity focused ultrasound heats deeper tissue to firm the area, offered at doctor-led clinics in Singapore. We do not offer HIFU.
  • Fat-dissolving injections. A doctor injects a fat-breaking solution into the pad over several rounds, with swelling for days after each one. This is a medical procedure and not something we do.
  • Surgery. Chin liposuction or a neck lift gives the largest single change for a prominent fat pad, at the cost of real downtime and a surgical budget. Also not something we do.

Realistic Expectations and Timelines

Whatever route you choose, the timeline matters more than the brochure photo. Tightening treatments show a visible lift from the first session, but the collagen response builds over six to eight weekly sessions, then holds with monthly maintenance. Fat-reduction approaches, whether freezing or injections, show nothing dramatic on day one; the body clears the treated fat over eight to twelve weeks, and many people need more than one round.

And no non-surgical option matches surgery for a large, dense fat pad. Anyone promising a surgical result without surgery is overselling. Take your own before photo in consistent lighting with a level chin, because posture alone can change how the area looks from one day to the next.

Which YL Treatment Fits Your Double Chin

Everything below is on our regular menu, priced for a first visit so you can test the fit before committing to a course:

  • Jawline softened with age: the 3D V-Lift Sculpt Lifting combines micro-current and RF to lift and firm the under-chin area, currently $48 net for a first trial, usually $98. We cover how it re-sculpts the jawline in our V-shape face slimming guide.
  • Puffiness is the main story: the Bojin + Guasha Facial, $58 first trial, drains fluid and sharpens the contour naturally.
  • Skin needs deeper firming: the RF Radio-Frequency Facial, $78 first trial, focuses purely on collagen and tightening.

If your assessment shows the fullness is mostly a stubborn fat pad, we will say so and point you toward fat-reduction or medical routes instead of selling you a tightening course that cannot deliver.

Frequently Asked Questions

It can usually be visibly improved. Tightening treatments such as RF and micro-current firm the under-chin area, fat-focused approaches shrink the pad gradually, and lymphatic work reduces puffiness. A large, dense fat pad or a recessed chin still responds best to medical or surgical routes, and a good provider will tell you which camp you are in before taking your money.
Genetics, age-related skin laxity, posture and fluid retention all create under-chin fullness independently of body weight. That is why weight loss alone often fails to remove a double chin, and why slim people can still have one.
Tightening treatments like RF and micro-current show a lift from the first session that builds over six to eight weekly visits. Fat-reduction approaches work over eight to twelve weeks as the body clears treated fat cells, and often need more than one round. Nothing reputable is instant.
No. We are a non-invasive beauty studio, so we do not offer injections, HIFU or surgery. Those are medical procedures performed at doctor-led clinics. If your assessment suggests one of them would serve you better than tightening, we will say so honestly.
